Governing Body

The work of our Governors is very important to the school.  Governors voluntarily attend an (evening) meeting of the governing body once a term and also work on a committee of governors, again meeting once a term.  We have four separate Governor Sub-Committees.  The Admissions Sub-Committee deals with all matters relating to Admissions, meeting primarily to agree the ranking order of new FS2 applicants.  The Business Sub-Committee focuses on all issues relating to finance, premises and HR, and the Curriculum Sub-Committee concentrates on all matters relating to the curriculum, including tracking, progress, predications and School Self-Evaluation.  The Pay Committee deals with all matters relating to performance management and pay.  For further details of Governors' areas of responsibility, please click the on Governor Sub-Committee link: Governor Sub Committees 2023

Governors are invited to attend school meetings, including Whole School Data meetings, Ofsted Update meetings and meetings with school visitors, ie the School Improvement Partner.

In order to keep up to date with current school issues and events, our Governors also regularly visit the school during the day, giving them the opportunity to discuss school matters with the Headteacher, including SEN matters with our SENCO, and many other areas, for example Safeguarding procedures and data analysis.
